Intent & Impact

The 13-week calibration planner. Decode the gap between what you meant to do and what actually happened.

Most days drift. You meant to do one thing, and the day did another. That gap isn’t bad luck. It’s information, and you can decode it. Intent & Impact gives you one loop to run every day for 13 weeks: set your intent, act on it, check where it landed, adjust.

Available now on Amazon in paperback. See Amazon for the current price.

The daily loop

Aim the day. Then decode where it landed.

Morning · about 3 min

Set

  • Intent: one main effort. One aim you can check tonight. Five aims can’t miss, so they can’t teach you anything.
  • Done looks like. If you can’t say what done looks like, you can’t tell whether it landed.
  • Up to three supporting efforts. So the small stuff has a place and stops crowding the main effort.
  • Loosen my grip on / Not feeding today. Decode what’s pulling at you before it runs the day.

During the day

Act

  • Time blocks, your own hours. You write the times, because no two days are shaped the same.
  • The plan is a guide, not a contract. The point is the next useful action, not a perfect schedule.

Night · about 3 min

Check & Adjust

  • Matched, Close or Off. Three boxes. An honest grade with no room to spin it.
  • Where it landed, the gap, and why. This is where you decode what actually ran your day.
  • One adjustment and your first move tomorrow. One change you’ll make beats ten you won’t.

The week and the quarter

Decode the pattern, not just the day.

Start of each week

Weekly Brief

The week’s main effort and your fixed commitments. Why: you set the week before the week sets you.

End of each week · about 10 min

Weekly Calibration

What you intended, where it landed, and the pattern in your gaps. Why: the same miss twice usually points to a setting you can change, not bad luck.

Before Day 1

Campaign and Milestone Map

One objective for the next 13 weeks, why it matters, and the milestones to get there. Why: 13 weeks is long enough to finish something real and short enough to see the end.

After Week 13

Quarter Debrief

What you learned, plus a seed for your next campaign. Why: you close the loop and start the next one smarter.

A look inside

Two pages you’ll use most

Intent and Impact daily page: a quote at the top, a morning Set section with intent, done looks like, supporting efforts, loosen my grip on and not feeding today, an Act section with blank time blocks, and a night Check and Adjust section with Matched, Close or Off boxes, where it landed, the gap and why, one adjustment and first move tomorrow.
A daily page: Set, Act, Check & Adjust.
Intent and Impact Weekly Calibration page: what I intended and where it landed, days matched tick boxes, milestone hit, the pattern in my gaps, sustain and adjust, a course check, and what to carry into next week's brief.
The Weekly Calibration page.

Use it as a set

Each notebook does one job. Together they cover the whole loop.

  • Lockebook to collect what you see and find it again. Why: you can’t decode what you didn’t write down.
  • Taps & Reveille to start and finish each day on purpose. Why: a steady rhythm keeps you showing up.
  • Intent & Impact to aim a 13-week campaign and check where each day landed. Why: it turns what you decode into an adjustment you actually make.

Questions

Do I have to start on a Monday or on January 1?

No. The pages are undated. Start the day you open it.

What if I miss a day?

Don’t backfill and don’t quit. Turn the page and run the loop again. The Weekly Calibration will show you the pattern.

How is it different from Taps & Reveille?

Taps & Reveille is a six-month morning and night rhythm: gratitude, a mission and a standard, then wins and a plan. Intent & Impact is a 13-week planner built around one main effort a day, time blocks, and a weekly check against a quarterly goal. Use either one, or both.

Where do the quotations come from?

They are short lines from historical writers, taken from public-domain editions, and the sources are listed in the back of the book.
